TURKISH PUMPKIN SOUP WITH MILK

„SQUIRREL”CAKE

Ingredients:
– 4 eggs
– ½ glass of cane sugar
– 2 glasses of flour *
– ½ glass of oil
– 4-5 apples
– 100g of dark chocolate
– ¾ glass of walnuts
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder
– 1 teaspoon of baking soda
* Blend oat flakes to get your own healthy substitude of wheat flour!

Preparation:
1. Wash, peel, dice/ grate apples and crumble walnuts (you can use a rolling pin). Chop chocolate into small pieces.
2. Break eggs into the bowl and cream them with sugar. Add flour, oil and mix.
3. Add apples, walnuts, chocolate, baking powder, baking soda and mix to get the smooth consistence.
4. Apply oil on the baking tin.
5. Pour the dough into the baking tin and put in the oven for 40 minutes. Remember to preheat the oven to 170 degree.
6. Leave the cake to cool down and decorate it with powdered sugar.
7. Enjoy your meal!

KISIR (BULGUR SALAD) – for 10 or 12 person

Ingredients:

  1. 1 kg Bulgur
  2. 1 and ½ teacup lemon juice
  3. 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  4. 1 tablespoon pepper powder
  5. 1 tablespoon peppermint
  6. 1 tablespoon red beaten pepper(optional)
  7. 2 onion
  8. ½ tablespoon salt
  9. Parsley
  10. 2 cucumber
  11. Lettuce ( to decorate)
  12. 5 green pepper
  13. 5 tomatoes
  14. Hot pepper ( optional)
  15. 4 cloves of garlic

Preparation:

  1. Peel the onions and garlics and chop up them
  2. Put the onions,garlics and olive oil in pot.Cook until the onions turn light Brown
  3. Put the bulgur in a large bowl.And than;put the peppermint,red beaten pepper,salt,tomato paste,pepper powder into the bulgur.
  4. Mix them carrefully
  5. Pour 1,5 liter hot water into the mixture( it should stay like this 10 minutes.
  6. Peel the tomatoes,cucumbers and than chop up them.
